Abstract Landscapes
The images from the series "Abstract Landscapes" are digital artifacts born from a malfunction of my smartphone. These so-called "glitches" occur when system or software routines deviate from their programmed course. Layered and multiplied horizon lines create landscapes that fluctuate between reality and abstraction.
Glitches disrupt our expectation of order, revealing beauty in the unexpected. They expose the fragility of digital systems, reminding us that technology, like nature, is not infallible. These landscapes, accidental compositions of distortion, challenge our notions of authorship, intention, and perception.
In a world where precision and functionality are paramount, a glitch represents a rupture in control. Yet, within this rupture, something new emerges: a spontaneous aesthetic, a moment of digital randomness that mirrors the organic unpredictability of the natural world. Are these landscapes mere errors, or do they reflect a deeper truth about the constructed nature of all visual experience?
